Help for the Credit-Challenged Soon-To-Be First-Time Homebuyers

3 10 2009

Today is the day to get motivated my people…  Many of my friends and family call me about purchasing a home.  Unfortunately, many of us (myself included) had a bit too much fun before this shift in economy and our credit is not quite where we need it to be.  But that’s okay!  Let’s not beat ourselves up about it.  Instead, let’s get on on the move and do what we know we need to do.  What God has promised us will be fullfilled… we just have to do our part to make it happen!

So, if you are one of those people who haven’t bought your first home yet because of bad credit, never fear.  This can be solved, one day at a time.  Imagine yourself driving down a long road toward your new home.  It will take you longer to get there if you are constantly staring through the rear-view mirror.  It’s okay to glance back every now and then just to remind yourself that you don’t want to go back to that black pit of debt, but keep your focus forward and you will get there before you know it.

I have a homework assignment for you.  Call the Carroll Park Community Council at (215) 877-1157.  They are offering help to first time homebuyers who wish to purchase a home in Philadelphia and they will help you qualify.  The program starts with your attending two classes and ends with your getting a grant toward the purchase of your first home!  The program is tailored to your needs which means that they will help you get your credit where it needs to be.  I have already learned that they have cancelled their classes for November due to the Septa Strike, and the December dates are to be determined.  So pull out your fancy blackberrys and iPhones and add a reminder to your calender and/or to do list to call CPCC to reserve your seat in the next December class for the credit challenged, but  soon to be First-Time Homebuyers!  AND WHEN YOU HAVE “GRADUATED” FROM THE PROGRAM, CALL ME SO THAT I CAN HELP YOU PURCHASE THE HOME OF YOUR DREAMS!
